Defining Transgender & Third Gender

Living gay, or transgender, is not a choice, or lifestyle, it is who people are. As humans everyone’s feelings, and emotions, are intertwined within our personalities from birth. The American Psychologists Association (APA) defines the word transgender “as an umbrella term for persons whose gender identity, gender expression, or behavior, does not conform to that typically associated with the sex to which they were assigned at birth. Gender identity refers to a person’s internal sense of being male, female, or something else.” Even as children LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay,Bisexual,Transgender, Queer) people grow up knowing who they want to be; and what measure they will take to be or not to be who they truly are in society. Environment, culture, and religion, shape humans into choosing whether or not to accept themselves for who they truly are. Accepting society’s view over our personal views, can cause LGBTQ individuals to be trapped, and not live truthfully, in society. These people are held captive by the rules of society. Some of them never fully engage in life, because of fear of not being accepted. They usually live as LGBTQ in secrecy, on the down low (DL) causing more harm to them, than good. There are no gender rules, but there are gender roles. Wikipedia defines third gender/third sex, as “individuals who are categorized (by their will or social consensus) as neither man, nor woman. Although biology usually genetically determines whether a human’s biological sex will be male, or female, intersex people are born as well.
Third gender and LGBTQ individuals’ transitions can be different for each person. Some people transition where you can not tell their gender identity, and with some you can. Either way there are no rules, of what you have to do to be a male, female, or intersex. An individuals sexuality, or gender do not determine, a persons capabilities in life. The only decision is what kind of human do you want to be?
According to the APA, “people use clothing, hairstyle, voice, behavior, and body characteristics, to communicate their gender identity to others.” Here are suggestions for what can be changed in order to transition your gender identity.
1. Clothing
Buy clothing that makes you feel suitable, and comfortable, in your gender type. Make sure your style of dress expresses the gender perception that you want to perceive. There are many styles, and colors, to choose from. You can mix and match clothing to make up your own style. My clothing varies daily. However, I make sure I wear what I want, and not what someone else wants. Perception is everything, what people see you as is what they will associate you with.
2. Hair
Whether short or long, colored or not, make your hair fit you. Don’t be scared to try something new. Cutting my hair marked the beginning of my journey for my transition. Once I cut my hair I felt free, and more masculine. It made me more secure in the gender role I am. For male to female transition (MTF) you may even consider growing your hair, and using extensions, or wigs.
3. Voice
Some people learn how to speak in higher or lower octaves. Practicing voice levels, exercises your voice to be able to go higher, or lower. You can strain your voice talking in a way you are not used to. Voice exercise will make your voice able to sound more feminine or masculine.
4. Physical Appearance of the Body
Working out and getting fit prepares your body to be the best new you can be. If you’re looking for a masculine appearance you may body build using weights, or calisthenics? If you’re looking for a feminine look, you may trim down with cardiovascular exercises like jogging, or bicycling. Masculine transition would more likely build muscle. While a feminine transition would tone down to be slender. Or you can do both, I personally toned down to build muscle, that would show.
5. Perception/Behavior You will see your behavior change as you gain confidence in your new look. The mind is the center of your transition. You can have a great appearance; however, if your perception is not right than you can’t fully transition. The mind makes the body look the way it perceives it to be. Make sure you research, and learn what you are, so you can be who you are. The more you learn, the more confidence you will build, making you stunningly marvelous to be who you are.

Is Heaven Designed for Bishop Eddie Long?

Americans all over the United States have turned their televisions to BET’s (Black Entertainment Television) cable station and seen Bishop Eddie Long of Atlanta’s New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, preaching or doing a commercial, at one point in time. Leading a mega church with over 25,000 members the prominent Bishop Long is hard to miss. In 2004, one month after voters approved an amendment in the state of Georgia’s constitution that banned gay marriage; Bishop Long led his congregation in a march of over 25,000 people against gay rights. Long is one of the most vocal activists against gay rights, and gay marriage in the Black Church.
For attempting to set such a strong example of heterosexual role modeling for Black Christians in Church today Bishop Long failed. In September of 2010 multiple allegations of four young men in their twenties, accused Long of sexual misconduct. The young men had evidence of how Long abused his spiritual guidance for youth. The evidence Bishop Long faced was in the cell phone messages, texts, and portraits, he exchanged with the four young men. Maurice Robinson, Jamal Parris, Anthony Flagg, Spencer LeGrande, and one anonymous young man, accused Long of seducing them as teenagers, and using church funds to do it. Long gave the four teenagers cash, cars, trips across the world, and gifts in exchange for sexual favors. It all began when Bishop Long befriended the teenagers between the ages 14-16 years old.
When Bishop Long spoke to his congregation of New Birth, for the first time after these allegations, Bishop Long vowed to fight the charges, and his day in court would come. While outside the church Long’s spokesperson refused any comment, and his legal team began instantly negotiating with plaintiffs.
In May of 2011 Bishop Long settled out on this same case he claimed he would fight. It was reported that Long settled the payout with an amount between 15-25 million dollars. Importantly the settlement was with a gag order.
This case is one of many that happen regularly in Black Churches across the U.S.A. Even though this case could have opened a much needed dialogue in the Black Church and Community on such topics as AIDS, homosexuality, and molestation, it could not because of the gag order. Yes the victims were compensated, but the Black Church was not. By silencing problems of importance, the stigmas in the Black Church have gotten worst. In late September, in Atlanta when Long was accused, 20 ministers gathered to pray especially for Bishop Long, and not one of them prayed for the four young men. These men were turned away by the Black Church, when they should have been loved. Bishop Long was even crowned like a king by Jewish leaders, while one of the young men attempted to committed suicide.
Religious leaders are treated as “gods” in more cases than one. But even “gods” make mistakes. But how they are even crowned gods when they prey, molest, and rape, young children. Where is the justice for our children? By leaving Bishop Long in the pulpit it says religious leaders can do whatever they want even if it’s wrong, and get away unscathed. However, humans are all equal. Religion is a choice for adults; however, it is forced on our children to believe. Yet, no one protects our children when they are violated, by the “gods”, preachers, priests, prophets, evangelists, bishops, apostles, and popes, we tell them to trust. Due to forgiveness, if violators, rapists, and murderers, or Bishop Long repents they can go to heaven. Where is the validation for the victims. So religion teaches as long as you apologize, you can do anything and still be rewarded. Victims are forced in a hell with the pain of seeing their rapist, molester,or murderer, rejoicing in heaven. It’s time for equality in our world today. The truth of religions lies needs to be recognized, in the Black Church, and Community, in order for them to move forward. It will come as evidence continues to wake humans from their willful ignorance, into learning truth.

Homosexuality and Gay Marriage in the Bible

The United States of America is supposed to be home of the free. However, everyone in America is not free to live. Today there are couples with and without children in the U.S.A. that are not allowed to express their love for each other in matrimony, because of religion. The last portion of church connected to state is seen through today’s views on gay marriage. President Barak Obama fully supports gay marriage, and publicly states this. While religious leaders like Pastor Curtis Knapp at New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas are totally against gay marriage. Pastor Knapp even went as far as to file a work order for the U.S. Government to kill all homosexuals (LGBT). You can hear Pastor Knapp state his views in his sermon at . This hot topic of legalizing gay marriage or not, is a decision that will pull apart or bind church and state,
Moreover, since most Christians claim the bible says no to homosexuality, let’s check out the truth of their statement. We will see if their religious word states gay marriage is wrong. Here’s what I learned on homosexuality in the bible:

Leviticus 20:13 KJV
If a man also lies with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely to be put to death: their blood shall be upon them.

An abomination in Hebrew is tow’ebah. According to Strong’s Greek/Hebrew Dictionary tow’ebah means something morally disgusting, but also has a strong implication of idolatry. Condemnations in Leviticus are more a condemnation of idolatry rather than homosexual acts themselves.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanders nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Here in this text when Paul writes about Men having sex with men it is in reference to male prostitutes not homosexuality. According to Thayer’s Greek Lexicon, the Greek word for male prostitute is malakos which means soft to the touch. However, in the bible malakos is used metaphorically in a negative way to refer to catamite. A catamite is defined as a boy kept for sexual relations with men, or as a male prostitute. Catamite is translated to English as a homosexual offender, which in Greek means the word arsenokoites which means sodomite. A sodomite is a person who engages in any kind of unnatural sex, but especially homosexual intercourse. The word arsenokoites refers to the men who kept catamites. No where in the bible does it say that it is not ok for adults to have sex with or marry adults of the same-sex, The bible was telling men to stop having sex with, and prostituting children.

Mark 7:20-23 KJV
And he said, that which cometh out of man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

As we read Mark &:20-23 we find that there are more sins punishable by no entrance into heaven listed in the bible. According to Wikipedia only 31-33% of the world’s population is Christian, but the number declines daily. More people are learning the truth about how religions started, and seeing the evidence that they are man-made. So what happens to the other 22% Islam, 22% non believers (atheist, agnostic, freethinkers, secular, and humanists), 14% Hinduism, and 5.9% Buddhism, that are not Christian, and do not practice Christian beliefs. You see the bible has been translated 42 different times from its original state. There are also 38,000 types of Christianity practiced worldwide today. So how can a religion that is so confusing, because it has an imaginary origin be an answer for everyone? Christianity should have no more control over U.S. Government. The bible states no proof of homosexuality amongst adults wanting to marry. The freedom of gay marriage in America will begin to show people who Christians don’t control the world or think for everyone.
