Cucumber Pear Juice

This juice is refreshing, and revitalizing. All these amazing fruits and vegtables are a refreshing way to get you going. The fun thing about juicing is you can add whatever you like.

The cucumber has vitamin K, C, B5, magnesium, manganese, and potassium. Cucumber is anti-inflammatory, energy producing, and it helps build bones, and your heart. So I decided to kick it up a notch with pears, celery, lemon, and honey.

Pears are great for burning stomach fat for that six pack ab. They are high in fiber, and help fight infection. This fruit is amazing. Pears help fight cancer, diabetes, gout, arthritis, and much more.

Celery is a refreshing root vegtable. It is a good source of vitamin A, C, B2, B6, copper, manganese, molybdenum, calcium, and potassium. This crisp vegtable is high in antioxidants as well.

Lemon has vitamin C, B6, iron, folate, magnesium, riboflavin, thiamine, and potassium. It is also high in fiber. Thus fruit cleanses your palate, while building healthy white blood cells.

Honey is a class of its own. This amazing sweetness can be an energy booster, or mood stabilizer for rem sleep. It’s also a antibiotic so it helps you fight infections. Great for your skin, hair, bones, and blood. I use raw honey for its super healthy powers.

The fun part about juicing is you get to give your body what it wants, and needs at the same time. This power juice drink is a full flavor way to get your energy and day going. Carrots are good for your eyes, and liver. This juice gives antioxidants vitamin A, B8, C, K, manganese, copper, pantothenic acid, from carrot. I use carrot as a base for my juicing. It’s one of my alternates to green juice.

Apples add a sweetness to this juice drink. The dietary fiber, antioxidants, and flavanoids, in the apple enriches promoting fulfilling body regularity.

Tumeric adds relaxation, since it helps with anti -inflammatory, brain function, and it’s high in antioxidants as well. Tumeric is great to help sinus infections, or joint pain. This power drink can help your eyes, and heart as well.

Watermelon juice

Summer is almost over so time to get the last of the summers luscious fruits. Watermelon is delicious eaten as is, or juiced. This superfruit has many different healthy benefits to your body. The sweet refreshing flavor it brings hydrates and quenches any thirst. There are different types of watermelon so don’t just try red, or yellow.

Watermelon has viatims A, B6, C, lycopene, amino acids, and antioxidants. It is heart, bone, and prostate healthy. Being 92% water this fruit can hydrate your skin while it improves cell function and immunity in your body. The redder, or more yellow the fruit is the healthier it is. Boosting beta carotene, energy, eye, hair, and skin health. Try adding Carrots, cucumbers, and pineapples go great with this fruit when juicing.

How to fix a bike inner tube

No one likes a flat tire. Especially when its because of a cheap product like Slime inner tubes. A bike is a mode of transportation to whatever your heart desires. You can ride into good health, work, school, shopping, or fun activities, while getting a nice body the whole time. Bike riding also helps save the earth from toxic chemicals of vehicles.

Your bike must be maintained daily. Everyone wants there bike to be able to ride when necessary. I had a flat tire, and decided to try something new. The Slime inner tube was a horrible product. I placed the inner tube on my bike and they began to deflate a mile from my house. The did not have a whole, the valve was clogged. The slime only works well if you start inflation with the inner tube pump nozzle at 12:00 or north. If you start off inflating the inner tube this way the slime will fall to the bottom of the tire. This way your tube,or air pump won’t be clogged.

I was not aware of any of this. I used 2 Slime Inner Tubes. The would not inflate all the way. I inflated with the pump south at 6:00. Not only did the inner tube value get clogged but so did my foot bike pump. When you buy self sealing inner tube make sure you inflate with the pump at 12:00. This way all the gel or adhesive does not clog your pump.

Thankfully I was able to save my foot air pump by rinsing the pump with water. The Slime Inner Tubes I purchased will be getting returned to the store.

However, I did purchase Slime tube liner protectors, which seem to be working well. As for my inner tube I’ll stick with heavy duty, or the plain rubber. I may have to replace it but at least it works. Hopefully my slime inner tube protector strips will be better than the Slime Inner Tube can ever be.

Purple Green Beans the Magic Bean

A neighbor in my favorite community garden gave me a special treat. Because of his kindness in sharing his harvest, I was able to try purple green beans for the first time. The magic beans he gave me, went along great with his fresh baby kale.

When you cook these delicious beans they turn from purple to green.

How to keep fruit and vegtables from not turning brown and fresh

Meal prepping makes life so much easier. One of my daily snacks are fresh veggies sticks. However, no one likes a brown apple, or pear slice, in there snack pack. So I found a new way to meal prep my fruit, and vegetable snack packs to keep them fresh. This way you can save money, and keep your whole family healthy on the go. Plus it’s easy and quick.

Any fruit or vegtable that oxidized after being cut and exposed to air, I soak for 1 minute in 2 tbsp raw honey and 3 cups water. This works great for keeping your food looking fresh, until you eat it. It also cuts back on the acid taste, as if you had used lemon water. My apples, and pear slices taste like honey, instead of lemon.

Last but most importantly, before sealing up my fruit,  and vegetable snack packs, I fold a paper towel and place it inside. The paper towel absorbs all moisture, and locks in freshness. I meal prep my snack packs on sunday, making one for everyday of the  week. The whole family gets their own too. They last fresh all week long plus a day. So next time you want any fruit, vegtable or herb to stay fresh and crisp, you can make it happen, just by doing this.

Can You Put Neosporin In Your Eye?

For the past few months, I have been to several doctors. I was concerned about the discomfort around my left eye, which was accompanied by headaches, sinus congestion, and post nasal drip. After taking plenty of antihistamines, antibiotics, steroids, sinus, and cold medicines, I was still in discomfort.  It constantly felt like my eye was congested, and the consistent post nasal drip gave me a chronic cough.  I decided to search the web for a home remedy solution, for what I was able to self diagnose as a sinus infection.

During my search I found a solution of Neosporin Ointment  (NOT THE CREAM OR PAIN RELIEF NEOSPORIN IT MUST BE THE REGULAR OINTMENT ).

Apparently it works for eye and ear infections. Most people message boards said to follow the instructions and don’t put it in your eye. However, many reviews said it worked for eye, sinus, and ear infections. I outweighed my options and decided to try it. I looked online to see how to apply it. Most people suggested using a q-tip, so that’s what I did.

You put the Neosporin on the q-tip. Pull down your eye lid, and roll it under your eyelid.

Then close your eyes and lay down. I applied it in my eyes before bed, because once in your eye you need it to melt and coat your eye. It’s hard to see with it in your eye.  In the mornings and at night I applied it my nose, and ears as well. I could feel the difference the first time I used it. It does not burn at all. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE OINTMENT NO CREAM OR PAIN RELIEF OINTMENT NEOSPORIN OR IT WILL BURN.

My post nasal drip is finally stopping. I still use a nasal saline rinse 3 times a day as well and I’m almost cured. I tried Zyrtec, Claratin, Benadryl, and Flonase but none worked. The last doctor of 3 I went to suggested I try Allegra, and I’m finally getting full relief. But NEOSPORIN OINTMENT SAVED MY LIFE. I’M ALMOST GOOD AS NEW AFTER ALMOST A YEAR OF POST NASAL DRIP, AND SINUS INFECTION. I said if it worked I would right a blog about it. I would suggest this for kids and adults as a home remedy. I give it 5 stars.

Mango Iced Tea Off The Tree

So you have a tree in your yard? It’s bearing so much fruit what should you do? My fruit bearing tree is mango.

image

I decided to make mango iced tea today.  I took 3 mangoes, pealed them and liquefied them in the blender. Then I strained the pulp from the juice, and put the mango juice back in the blender.

image

I seeped my favorite iced tea bag  in 4 cups of boiling water. I added 1/2 lemon, and 1 cup of sugar, and seeped tea to the mango juice. Then I filled the blender with ice. I liquefied the mix, and placed it in the freezer to chill. The end result was mouth-watering mango iced tea. I will try this with other fruit as well.

Frying Chicken Covered or Uncovered

Yesterday I saw Martha Stewart frying chicken covered, in a cast iron skillet on her show. Tonight I’m frying chicken, and I decided to give it a try. I may not have a cast iron skillet yet but I do have a cover.
I’m preparing this meal as we speak. I did begin frying with the chicken covered the first five minutes of cooking.

image

However, I noticed once I opened the lid, the chicken appeared to be boiling in the oil. Now I like my fried chicken crispy. So this was not working for me at all. As I left the lid off, the chicken steamed less, causing less condensation in the oil, and more deep frying.  Yet I do think the lid on the first few minutes helped cook the chicken through some. But I’m finishing off lid off.

image

So now that it’s done I can see the difference in the crispness of the chicken I fried. The chicken I kept covered came out good but not as crispy as I like.

image

The chicken I only covered the first five minutes came out deliciously crispy and crunchy, yet it’s still moist inside.
